BREEDING RULES
BREEDING RULES
* Breeding posts must include the due date in the subject.
* Horses must be 4 years old to breed.
* Geldings may not breed.
* Mares may not event while they are in foal or recovery.
* Mares may not flat/sprint/stamina race after having a foal.
* Mares may only breed once a RL month.
* Mares are pregnant for 7 days before having a foal, in that time she may not event in anything except halter and may not be bred again, even in another game.
* Mares are in recovery for 7 days after having a foal (Beginning the day after the foal is born making the total foaling time 14 days) In that time she may not event in anything except halter and may not be bred again, even in another game. Violating this rule endangers the health of the mare and her foal as well as catching the attention of the humane society.
* Each member may breed 7 mares every 7 days unless they have special permission to breed more.
* If you are given breedings for your birthday by a number of members you may do them all at once under a heading 'Birthday Breedings' and they will not have a limit.
* Stallions must be tested before they can breed. To have your stallion tested post him on the message board under stallion testing. Failure to do so may result in foal defects.
* Mares and Stallions may breed until they are 25 but breeding them after age 20 is risky. Mares are more at risk than stallions are.
* Foals are born with 1/4 of their dams points, no skills and no training unless you have a point breeding to use.
* There are 2 kinds of point breedings, member point breedings & horse point breedings.
* A member point breeding is simply owned by you and can be used on any horse at any time.
* Horse point breedings are awarded to a specific horse and must be used on that horse.
* Point breedings can be won in a stallion inspection, or given out by admin.
* Stallions automatically receive a point breeding when they are given star papers. This is a horse point breeding and must be used by that stallion.
* Point foals receive 1/2 their dam's points & 1/2 their sires points.

Remember, horses in this game are measured in the imperial system of HANDS each 'hand' being 4 inches. There is not such thing as a horse being 16.8 in this game. If you are still doing heights on that system (cm?) you need to convert to american "hands" as that is the system this game uses
